Who is Martin?

 

Solid Footing As a young man he was a carpenter and learned the importance of creating a solid foundation on which to build everything else.

Teamwork He is a Vietnam veteran, serving with the Marines 1965-68. It’s important to know you can depend on the others in your team.

Problem Solving He was Director of Information Technology for a large medical group. He knows you must listen and understand the problem, before you can begin to solve it.

Leadership & Service Martin serves on the Ashland Community Hospital Board of Directors and is a Director with the Rogue Valley Peace Choir.

Before moving to Ashland, Martin was a member of the Springfield School Board for 5 years and a Director with the Lane County Council of Governments.

Performance Martin and his family have been in the “spotlight” for many years. In fact, Martin & Karen met as dancing partners in Little Theater on the Bay's West Side Story. The best productions (and families) are the ones where everybody works together.

Roots While Martin is somewhat new to the Rogue Valley, part of his wife Karen’s family first moved to Ashland in 1904.  The other part had already been in the area for thousands of years, along the Klamath River in Northern California.

 Their two children are currently attending Oregon colleges.
