- Jacksonville, Oregon
is one of the
oldest communities in Oregon, and the entire town is now a National Historic
District. Still small and quaint it seems sheltered
from much of the hubbub of modern life. But, it has some of the finest
restaurants and bed and breakfasts in Southern Oregon. It is also the home
to several fine wineries and to the Britt Festival, a summer-long outdoor
performing arts festival. There are some limited new developments
being built, but mostly Jacksonville is staying small. Historical
Jacksonville homes are available, as are more modest older homes.
